Hen pooping jet of egg yolk and white

I would not give an enema because of the danger of pushing fecal bacteria up into the oviduct. The large intestine is located next to the oviduct opening and you don’t want bacteria entering there. I would clean up the vent area and give the human calcium or Tums orally once a day for the next 7 days. She could have another egg coming, and that can help her pass it.

Thanks for all the replies.

I've taken so much advice from Eggcesive over the years that I'm happy to defer to her experience.

I'm also curious about the coconut oil. Is that to eat or to lubricate the vent/oviduct?

@Eggcesive. I've probably had this conversation with you a few times but previously it's been about egg bound hens: how much Tum? I think from memory it's 0.5 of a tablet per day?

Again, thank you all. It's very helpful and skyAJK, thank you too - I'm grateful for your information. I'd not heard of it before and was curious.
