My 4yo hen is blind. When I was giving it water as I usually do ( by pressing a cup to her side or leaving the cup next to her) she sneezed while her head was in the water and got more water back up. Now I've removed the water but she's constantly making the 'drinking water' motion even though there's none. She's sneezing and shaking head too. Please help. She took a small bite of food and started again. I've removed everything now.

Its become less frequent (though hasn't stopped) and she's sleeping now with head sideways on top of the wings. I hope she's cleared it out. I'll check on her in the morning too. Should I look out for pneumonia even if she acts normally afterwards?

I'll think she's likely fine. In my experience if a hen gets water in her lungs there is a lot of coughing and shaking. She's probably got a little water up her nose and is trying to clear it out of her sinuses.

Yeah she's better now. Eating but I don't think she's drunk water yet.
Hopefully she'll be brave enough to try drinking water again today, but if you're worried about her getting dehydrated you could wet her food into a mash so she gets some water along with her food.
