They have a roost in there. I'm not sure if they are sleeping on it though. They may be. We try not to go out at night and get them riled up.

I'd say that sounds like my silkie, but like she will get off the nest every so often... like she will go and walk around but it isn't all day. We can't keep her off the eggs hahaha

My silkie doesn't roost...she sleeps in the nesting boxes...but I've heard that its similar to other ppl with silkies.

Sounds like she's sleeping in the nest box which is a habit you should break, unless you don't care if the eggs and box have poop on them.

Don't be afraid of checking to see if they roost at night. We check on our chickens at night to make sure they all get in the coop ok. If yours aren't on the roosts you'll need to go in after they've settled in for the night and manually move them to the roost bars, so they learn to use it.
