My 4 year old sex link had diarrahea for a week. Gave her a few baths, kept an eye out. Went downhill rapidly yesterday and today. Had her in cage, she was puffed up, head down, not eating or drinking, could barely stand . About an hour ago I heard flailing in cage (before you think you know where this is going read on) I figured she dropped dead , gave it a few minutes, went to get corpse. Nope. She's standing up and shaking like shes having a seizure, but alive, and right after this, seemed ⁰ much better. It's a new one on me. I was giving her a slurry of tylan, vitamins and electrolytes via beak. they free range on a fenced acre, I dont use peticides insecticide or rat poison. The other hens are fine. I've never seen a chicken have a seizure except for death throws. Wierd! She still doesn't seem great, but def better. Crop was empty, belly did seem squishy, hasnt been laying , eyes are fine when open, no sneezing or resp. issues. Does this seem like food poisoning? My original guess was just heart failure , cancer or similar but the rebound caught me off guard.
