Hen/Rooster of the Week Award

Karen the 18 week old ISA Brown has earned the Hen of the Week Award at Schweiss' Backyard Farm. She is the first in her flock of 12 hens to lay an egg and has laid two days in a row. While her eggs are still on the small side, the shells were hard and nicely shaped. Way to go Karen!

This is Arnold the cockerel. He will be turning one soon. He is a brown leghorn. He gives almost all of his treats to the hens and alerts the hens when he finds something yummy. He fertilizes the hens eggs so I can incubate them. Arnold is a great rooster.
