My one silkie in a standard flock btw. Well she roosts way to early. Yes daylight savings came or whatever I forgot. But before that she did roost a a little bit before bedtime. Bedtime was at like 5 now bedtime is 7 or a little after and she roosts around 6. She does get picked on so I wonder if that's also a reason as she likes to get her spot before they get mad and kick her off. Anybdoy have this problem.

Mine start heading for the roost as soon as the sun goes behind the tree line, even though it's an hour before dark. I get it. I like to go to bed early and get up early. Besides, first one on the roost gets the best spot.

Sounds smart on her part to avoid the abuse. Make sure that she is getting enough to eat and drink. Silkies in standard fowl flocks sometimes have a rough time.
They still pick on her but I end up moving here and blocking their pecks with my hand and tap back on their beaks. they stop but it's not enough for them to stop bullying. And yes she loves to eat and drink and I always make sure she's getting enough. I take her out (just her) in the yard so she can get some grass and get away from the bullying. I also pic her up and put her on the high perch in the run and she loves looking out into the yard. (I don't leave her up there I make sure I put her down as she cannot jump from that height)
