So, one of my ISA Brown pullets ( 32 weeks old, almost a hen ) is apparently a favorite with my roos and her back near the tail is starting to go bare. She hasn’t been scratched up, but I don’t want it to get to the point where she does. I was wondering if anyone had any tutorials on making a saddle for her to wear? I don’t know how to sew, so one without sewing would be preferable but I’d being willing to try if it was the best option. Also, is it possible to use old clothing to make them?

If you want a no sew option I'd look for some felt or some scrap thin weight leather that won't fray when they're cut. I think you can get that online.

I think there are patterns online too. They might require some elastic braid but that would be minimal sewing to attach.
yeah, I looked and most of what I saw online was ones you had to sew. https://weallsew.com/how-to-make-a-chicken-apron-or-hen-saddle/

i figured I’d ask here to see if anyone had their own version of it that worked for them. The only no-sew option I found used felt but they said their hen slipped out of it easy.
