Hen sick after worming

hi guys,

I have a sick Sussex hen who is listless, eyes closed, resting back on her haunches and not very responsive. She fell ill the day after being wormed with Kilverm. I worm my flock religiously every 3 months with Avitrol Plus, but culled a chicken recently to find she had some roundworms 2 months after her last worming (I live in tropical Australia, so not unexpected). So I immediately treated the flock again, but used Kilverm as the Avitrol was running low. I've used Kilverm before and quadruple checked my wormer to water ratio for dosing. It was not a hot day when they were wormed.

Has anyone had an issue with a sick chook after worming with this or any other product? I've been stringing watered down yoghurt to try to pep her up. The rest of the flock is fine, but a couple have slightly compacted crops following the worming. I've been massaging them and have fed them with a mash of with soaked layer pellets mixed with yoghurt.

Any suggestions on what I can do for my sick girl? She has worsened overnight.

I'm sorry you are having problems. I would bet the worms themselves are the problem and not the meds.
