It looks like I have 2 hes sitting on eggs and the other hens in the coop keep laying in the nests where the hens are sitting? I'm not sure what to do about this...there are 2 other nests where the hens can lay! My small cochin hen must have 20 eggs under her now!

I had two hens laying in the same nest before and they both went broody in there on top of each other! One gave up after two weeks and the other was then sitting on about twenty eggs, 15 hatched the others weren't getting enough heat to hatch and some just rolled out of the nest, the only thing i would suggest is either cover the nests with wood during the night and taking it of in the morning after the others have laid or move the broodys and there eggs somewhere which is inaccessible to the other chickens they should sit back down on the eggs no problem after you move them.

Ok thanks...I think I will move the 2 brody hens and their eggs...there might be a 3rd brody sitting with the cochin but don't think I'll move her...crazy!

I have ones that will do that and refuse moving from "their!" box. When that happens I just mark the eggs that are laid in the first 5 days then take any new ones out daily. I have very chillaxed human friendly chickens

I should have marked them...now too many! But looks like she has help there seems to be a 2nd hen sitting on the eggs with her!

Well, good luck with their ambitious undertakings!!!
You can always just mark what's there now with a safe spray (I use blue wonder spray, but I'm not sure if that can be detrimental at all. Hasn't affected them for me at all. Definitely NOT scarllex

that'll damage the shells severely ) Just something silly I do to try and keep track
