I have 2 red star hens aged 16 months. Ivy has laid an egg every day since last Easter, Holly misses every few weeks.
Yesterday and today Ivy didn't lay, so I started to panic.
She is not prolapsed, and she is not egg bound because I made sure I watched her poop. She is bright, eating and drinking, and they are up to date with wormer. These are my first chickens so I do get a little worried, thanks.

Chickens stop laying eggs for a variety of reasons. Hens may lay fewer eggs due to light, stress, poor nutrition, molt or age. Some of these reasons are natural responses, while others can be fixed with simple changes and egg laying can return to normal.

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. Ivy laid an egg today, so order is restored 😁
