My Hen "Uno" started to have a problem Sunday evening. She is a special bird, due to she has only one wing from an accident when she was young. So anyways, Sunday I let my flock out to free graze and at the end of the day she was the only one missing after several minutes of searching we found her. She was unable to move and one of her eyes was held shut. Her legs were curled underneath and I lifted her to see if she can walk and she just fell. She has been weaving her head around as if she is disoriented. I have been giving her water by hand and she seems interested but she will not drink or feed on her own. No wounds are present, the leg that she does lean toward has discoloration (tinge of blue) on the webbing between her toes. Any info on how I can treat her and get her on the road to recovery will be greatly appreciated.

i'd continue giving her water - some electrolytes in it or gatorade would be better. Maybe offer some yogurt by hand or something soft she may eat. The blue discoloration may be bad circulation because she was sitting so long? I would isolate her from the rest for now.

She definitely had no scratches or any physical injury on her? did you check under the feathers? When one of my hens got attacked from a hawk a few weeks back, she had a lot of hidden scratches on her body (though her face was in bad shape too, so i knew she had been attacked). She also wouldn't move or stand for almost a day, from the shock.

I am really not sure what is wrong with her, hopefully someone with more experience will jump in.

Thanks, I'll give her electrolytes today. I had a hen that went into shock before from a dog attack, and she snapped out of it. Im hoping its the same situation. Yes I investigated her everywhere and rotated her legs making sure they weren't broke, but she was fine. But I'll look further today and see if I see anything. And it doesn't help that she's molting as well. Poor girl
