Hello all
I have a one year old white leghorn. My other 4 hens are doing fine, and this is my first illness/physical problem to deal with, aside from a crush injury that killed one of my chickens earlier this year.
She's not interested in food, barely drinking a bit, and only when we bring a measuring spoonful to her beak. I have Nutridrench in her water now. She only wants to stand in a corner with her tail down and head tucked in sometimes (does not want to lay down, maybe pressure on her underside?). Her comb and wattles are normal color. She will relax and sleep when I'm holding her wrapped in a towel. Poop has been a little watery, but mostly normal. I felt for an egg, couldn't feel anything. I have squished her crop a lot, but I really don't know what "normal" feels like. It seems empty and squishy, but yesterday may have been full. Doesn't smell bad like I've read sour crop would be. I felt for an egg that might be stuck, but not sure where I would feel it. We are also having VERY abnormally high weather coming up, so I'll be keeping her and the other girls in kennels in the house over the weekend. Any ideas, questions, etc. are welcome.
