Our hen (Sparra) molted a month or so ago. A few days ago, she started holding her tail down. She seems mostly normal otherwise and doesn't want to be picked up (also normal for her).

Seen some posts about being possibly egg bound, but I don't think she's currently in laying condition. All our ladies have been on break since November/December. (also normal)

I had a similar problem with at least 4 or more of my hens. They would go through a medium to large molt while at that time not laying. Then after all their feathers had grown in they would still not lay (in winter and fall alike).

soon not only would their tail be droopy but they would also act lethargic and constantly be sitting and acting uninterested with life. Im not sure if your dealing with exactly what i went through but ima share what i did and maybe it will help.

I thought it could be egg related problems because their butt pocket/cavity beneath the vent would feel bigger and filled (not like a water balloon tho).

so i started them on a treatment plan consisting of this liver powder and kicken chicken supplement.

once a day for a entire month i would mix 1/4 tsp of the liver powder with 1 tsp water and syringe feed it to her along with 2 cc's of the kicken chicken supplement. not only did they all survive but they are thriving and laying again.

As long as she's eating/drinking/pooping/moving around(not lethargic) OK,
I'd not worry.
