Hen thats not laying

I have a hen who started laying eggs last November, she was 5 mo old. She always lays on the same place. She hasn't laid an egg in 7 days. Is that normal?

What breed? It can be normal for hens to take breaks. Only higher production breeds will sometimes continue to lay for the whole season. Many breeds will start and stop throughout the laying season.

I'm still new to raising chickens. I'm told they are a mix. Mostly I just want to be sure it's normal behavior and that she's not sick. She acts fine.

She may have just changed her laying spot.

Most of mine will lay regularly for 6-8 weeks than take a break before resuming. The best production is generally seen in early spring, and it falls off as the season progresses.
