Our littliest hen has twice made a noise between the egg laying call and crowing. It has been only when she is upset in the morning.
She is definately a female. Laying a egg about every day for almost a year. She layed one yesterday and will probably lay one today. The thing is she is at the bottom of the pecking order, but has been trying to be dominate over non-chicken pets (i.e. my grandparents little dog that was here for a week).
I have heard of hens crowing. But a non-dominate one in-lay? What should I do if she this becomes a regular thing?
