Older hen is crowing?

I'm not sure what is going on. I have a 2.5 year old Polish hen who started crowing shortly after my rooster's favorite hen died. She also stopped laying eggs. Does anyone know why she would be acting like this?

Can you post a picture of her? Sometimes a tumor on an ovary can result in hormonal changes that make a hen take on male characteristics - male specific feathering, crowing, mating hens - they do not become fertile roosters only take on the appearance and actions. I have only ever seen it happen one time in a friend's flock.

She doesnt seem to have physical male characteristics and hasnt mounted any other hens. I was thinking she was trying to get the rooster to leave her alone.

Is the saddle for preventing feather loss during mating? It looks cool, I need 500! Where you get it?

I ordered it on amazon and got them because they are supposed to be good mating saddles. Yes, the rooster is a lot bigger than her so she needs it. 3 of my hens have one so far.
