Hen tried to lay shell less egg and it broke coming out, what should I do?

the shell is currently hanging out of her butt, and what I want to know is should I try and pull it out, or leave her alone and let her get it out herself? Or something else?

Never mind, she got it out herself and seems fine now

Glad your hen passed it.
Keep an eye on her, especially if she starts walking strange or sitting down a lot.
If you're worried that there may be shell pieces still in her, you can put on gloves and put a finger in her vent to feel for shell fragments.
