Hen turning eggs at day 19

Today when I went to check if I had any pips I saw my broody hen is turning the eggs it’s day 19! I thought eggs are not meant to be turned after day 18 will it cause harms to the chicks and it’s day 19 I haven’t had any pipes yet is it something to worry about thanks btw the eggs are aseel eggs

x2! They're fine. In an incubator the chicks knock the hatching eggs all over, which is much worse than a hen turning them. They all still hatch. Good luck!

I chuckled at "much worse than turning them" Certainly much worse than gentle nudges from mom!

Question.. today is day 21 for the eggs under my broody hen. She will be mama for the first time, she is only 6 months old. Am I supposed to let the hen go for a walk today or should keep her in the nest? Do the hens get up for a walk the last 3 days???

In my experience they do go out but I bring them back in about 5 minutes after they poop and eat and drink after the chicks starts hatching they stop

@Holylolly how many eggs do you have under the hen? I have 13, and I checked them yesterday all were moving. I have put eggs the same day in the incubator those have not pipped yet. I am planning to put all the hatched chicks from the incubator under the hen so she can raise them with those she hatched. I heard someone did it and their hen ended up with 35 chicks to raise. Don't know if this is possible...

I put 14 eggs under my hen and after candling on day 17 all had chicks inside today 1 pipped I can hear chicks from all eggs too . And it is possible that a hen to adopt but be careful most of the time they don’t adopt do it at night and observe what she does ❤

My hen started making the Cluck, cluck sound today, so maybe she can hear them chirping in the eggs. This is my first broody hen ever and I am so excited! Now, how do I know if they have pipped tomorrow, do I take her for a walk?
