I've got a hen who has limited feathers due to previous roo and moulting. She is wearing a denim cotton apron to protect her back. I'm wondering if this is a concern during the cold rainy/snowy season. The fabric will get wet and possibly keep her colder.

Seems silly, but should she be wearing some other apron fabric... such as polartec? I could probably make her one with some leftover fabrics.

I put a strip of duct tape across my hens bare backs. Protects them from the roos who seem to rip them open once all their feathers are gone and it's water resistant and it falls off after a few days and there's always a nice new growth of soft feathers started. All of my hens are wearing the latest in chicken fashions - a nice shiny grey strip of "chicken tape".
