Hen with abcess on beak? help!

This poor hen looks aweful. Shes molting right now, got a scratch on her back from our roosters spurs, which ive taken the very tips off off, btw, and now she has this strange growth on her beak.....ive separated her into a cage but she hasnt touched her food or water in 4 hours...is that ok or could she have something stuck in her mouth? is it maybe an enflamed mucous gland? should i try to puncture it? I havent a clue! help!

OK....i just went out and took her out of the cage so i could look in her mouth. everything looks normal and smooth; its just a growth. GAAAH!!!!
