Another issue has came up with another chicken. She started limping about 4 days ago so I checked her feet for cuts, sores, fever, range of motion an did this everyday for 4 days. I put in a lower roost for her to use. I assumed she jumped down to hard an maybe caused the limp since I did not see anything. This morning I brought her in to check her over better an the reason I believe for the limp is a sore on her back. Never even thought to look there. But her feathers were raised in that areas. She has had a great appetite. Here are a couple photo's. Researching now what it can be. Any ideas?? I can put triple antibiotic cream on the spot and I do have some oral antibiotics if necessary. I just don't want to make this chicken suffer. Or should I put her down??:-( No drainage, just red and hard about the size of a flat baseball. Day two after both oral and liquid antibiotics. The spot has gotten a more dark red, still no drainage. Her appetite is good, she tries to groom the spot with the sore spot. I have her separate in a kennel with room and put a low perch in so she can roost. Her poop is watery. Using triple antibiotic cream ( triamcinolone acetonide cream) on spot, oral antibiotic (Duramycin-10) She laid an egg yesterday an I threw it out. First two pictures are of the wound yesterday and today of her in the kennel soaking up some sun. And last photo of her poop which stinks.

Does her wound look more like it was injured, possibly from a rooster spur or a predator, or does it look more like a tumor? When she walks, does she hold the leg up or put it down? Are her toes curled under?

Do you have a history of Marek's in your flock or were they vaccinated?

You can treat that as a wound to see if it gets better. Limping could also be from injury, but looking at some of your other threads, Marek's does come to mind.
I had a Rooster go lame back about 5 months ago at the age of 7 months. He was not vaccinated according to the lady I bought him from and this being all new to me I did not think to ask at the time. But I suspected Marek's based on info. I found on the web. But the vet (a regular vet) suspected genetics. The brother to the rooster did died about a month later from similar symptoms, but he was owned by someone else at the time and they did not have the time to devote so within 4 days he deteriorated quick. I asked her about two weeks ago how the rest of her hens were doing and she said no problem. My rooster is still with me and is fine except he never got his ability to walk right. He tries but I help him an move him a few times a day so he is not always perching. The 20 hens and 1 rooster I purchased from tractor supply. All the same type of birds. I have had 4 of them die on me of similar and different symptoms. This hen is totally different. The sore once I discovered it is hard, was brighter red, but now darker red. She eats great, poop is watery but that could be the antibiotics. I tried to wash the spot to get a better look but she was not having that an I did not want to stress her out. So I am layering the triple antibiotic cream once a day. Heavy an giving her the oral antibiotic in her water. She is drinking it thank goodness. I have her separated an in a kennel so my rooster is not trying to mount her. And she is not having to keep up. I wonder if the rooster perhaps hurt her he is big an not gentle. When she walks she puts it down and limps on it. Her toes do not curl. when I touch one foot the good one she curls it the other she not so much, but some. Hope this helps an thank you. I am hoping to give her a bath in the next day or two to see how it is doing but I do not want to have a dirt butt water mixed with her sore. So for now I just wash her butt feathers. Thanks everyone for the advice and help.
