A couple of days ago, i came and one of my hens had a bad cut on to of her foot, to the point, don't know that she can use that toe. anyhow, she was able to stay away from the other chickens by getting on a separate roost and i thought it was healing. I had cleaned it up and put some neosporin on it. Yesterday i went out and it was bleeding again, i think one of the other hens had been picking at it. Anyhow i split her up, and last night when she roosted on it, her feathers got caught up into it. I cut them away, but am trying to figure out the best way to treat it. Do i need to soak it somehow to try and get the feathers out, of so, in what?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Soaking in warm water until you can remove the feathers should work. It'll need to be thoroughly cleaned out again and covered with the (pain reliever-free) antibiotic ointment.

Do you know what caused the injury? It sounds deep from your description, so you'll want to keep an eye on it to ensure it doesn't become infected. Hope she feels better soon!
