Hen with bloody butt

I have a hen with blood on its backside. The feathers are hanging down from the vent looking very bloody. What do I do?

Inspect the area. Is there a cut on the vent or skin anywhere? Is this chicken laying eggs yet? Does it look as though a feather may have broken in the area? Sometimes a feather can bleed if broken, as is the case with pin feathers (new feathers).

all i can say is wipe it off and see if you can find out where it is coming from and what is causing it. it might have happened when she laid an egg
