I just went out to check my hens and found my splash cochin with a broken/split beak. It looks as though it's been broken/torn at the base--it's the upper beak, still attached, but off-kilter, sideways a little. there is some blood. She tried to eat raw hamburg, but couldn't. I've called vet and will take her in in the AM, but does anyone have any help or advice for NOW???? I'm beside myself as (of course) this is one of my favorites, so gentle and sweet.... Please please advise!

You need to separate her if you haven't already so that the others don't pick at the blood. Make sure that she has water and maybe offer a nice soft treat like yogurt. Keep her in a nice quiet area for tonight.

Thank you--I have done so. Her crop does have food in it, she's tried taking some bread and milk, she looks and acts fine--she's got a baby chick and is still mothering him to all get out. Do beaks grow back? It really looks as though hers has been almost torn off partway at the base! Poor girl!
