Hen with broken leg - near hock.

Not a full. She doesn't have feeling in that foot, & isn't moving her toes. But her bone callus is larger than the size of a quarter, not quite the size of a .50c piece. I don't know if she'll ever get feeling in it, or if it'll be like a prosthetic leg .......

She still has a hitch when she walks, but at least she's walking! She also still doesn't have any feeling in her foot. I pinch the bottom of it once a week to see if there's any change. I can only hope for her to continue to do better. Here are some pictures & a video of her a week ago. She's walking a little better now, & will even hurry after cherry tomatoes when I put them out. On an odd note, she's the only one that my broody hen, Thelma, will let in the stall with her & the 5 chicks ......

She gripped my finger with her toes this morning! Almost 2 months later. Her hitch isn't as bad, & she even started laying eggs late last week. Hopefully, when the chicks are old enough to go to their new home, she'll be healed enough that I can put her & the broody hen back with the others. I think her being in with them has done a world of good for her.
