Oh thank you so much!! Delilah just went broody AGAIN, and I'm thrilled because I have a dozen Ameraucana eggs coming after my first batch in the incubator was a total bust last week. She is a gem of a mommy!
I know, I just love her. I named her Precious and she sure lives up to the name. She is so tame and sweet. She ended up going broody shortly after she started laying, I don't think she layed more than 8 eggs before she decided she wanted to be a mama. It's fun to watch her with the babies. If you pick one up to look at, when you put it back by her, she checks it all over and makes sure it's ok, clucking all the time. She's is just a little fluff of a thing but any cat comes near and they better watch out. That's funny to see, as the cats are about four times her size.
I had a japanese Bantam & showgirl go brody on me so gave her a couple eggs to sit on (they always crammed together in the same nest and would fight over who gets to sit on them). If I'd seperate the eggs to 2 seperate boxes they'd somehow move them back to the same and both sit. Here they are still fighting over who got to be the mama once they hatched.
