Help I have a hen just yesterday has developed a case of a crooked neck she is eating and walking around but her head is bent sideways does anyone know what might be going on? Please help Robin

Start giving her childrens liquid vitamins at the rate of 2 drops 2 times a day for 4 days and then 1 drop 2 times a day for 4 days and then 1 drop 1 time a day for 4 days.

A crook neck without other signs of imbalance might indicate also a physical injury as well as a nutritional deficiency or toxins from mold/mycotoxins (feed usually). In addition to the polyvisol vitamins advised by WES you can also give VitE/selenium combination (vit E > 200-400 IU and selenium > 50 MICROgrams (not milligrams)...many have told me that there is a combination at this dosage at agway and walmart. Just prick the tab open and squirt in beak. There are many research studies showing this is beneficial in shock and toxicity/poisoning cases.

Thank you so much for the reply, I will start today. Again thank you so much Robin

Carri like dlh posted it could be many things but IMO most of the time it is a nutritional problem that only effects birds that are kinda iffy when it comes to processing nutrition.

The
article above from the MERCK manual describes the specific deficiency which is associated with retraction of the neck (also listed in the MsState external Symptoms of Poultry disease chart)...however as you gave no other symptoms but the neck ... anyway, thought you might want the info so if further symptoms appear this might help you with narrowing down the problem...without additional symptoms it is often difficult.
