Hen with dried feces on backside.

I have a hen that has feces stuck to her. I have tried sticking her in warm water and it keeps coming back. Is something wrong with her?

Some hens just have dirty butts. You need to keep it clean, it can burn the skin. If the feathers get messy quickly you can trim them. I have one like that too.

I have one old hen that does not lay anymore who I am constantly cleaning her butt. I pick her up under one arm and use a large syringe to squirt water onto her butt. As the poop softens I use paper towel to pull off the clumps. (I wear surgical gloves when I do it because it can be messy.) Also, check her over for mites. For some reason mites like poopy butts.
