Hi, one of our hens just got Fly Strike. We’ve given her multiple epsom salt baths and have pulled most all the maggots we can out. The last bath we saw no maggots. But we aren’t sure what to do about her wounds. Their right near her vent so we are wondering if there is any good treatments for this?

!!! Give her vitamins and electrolytes and keep her hydrated for a day or two. Flush the wound with either Betadine diluted in water, saline water, or Vetericyn spray. Dry the wound. You can use a hair dryer set on low heat. Avoid any ointments. Keep doing this two to three times a day until the maggots are gone and the wound is fully healed.
