Hello!
Unfortunately my hen has begun to wheeze and have very loud mustered breathing. She’s also acting lethargic. Any idea what’s wrong? I’m thinking maybe something upper respiratory, if so how should I treat? I attached a link to a video of her breathing, please turn it up all the way to hear her. Thank you!

I suspect it might help get more replies if you provide more details ...age,exact diet, coop details including bedding , egg laying, poop description should help.
Good luck!

She’s not breathing as bad now, all I’ve done is take her inside to warm up. I’m very curious now
Can you post some photos of her face too or show us another video of her face while she is breathing?
Do you notice any discharge from the eyes or mucous from the nostrils?
Are her nostrils clear of dirt and debris?
How old is she, has she been laying eggs?

With breathing like that, vet care is always best.
It could be respiratory illness or something like molds that is irritating her.
If the symptoms worsen, then you can try treating with an antibiotic like Tylan50.
Dosage is .25ml per pound of weight given orally 2-3 times a day for 5 days.

Have you added chickens to your flock within the last 30 days?

Hello, sorry for taking so long to update!

But she is doing much better now and is almost back to her old self:wee

As for information about her, she is 1 1/2 years old and has been laying normal eggs almost daily. She also has no discharge or mucus ect.

I'm glad that she is back to normal!
Maybe she had a little food stuck in her airway.
