Hen with no voice? Help Needed.

A friend of mine was telling me the other day how he has a hen that doesn't make any noise. He just got this hen recently and she hasn't made any noise since he has owned her. She seems healthy otherwise and she lays eggs.

Any idea what could be causing a chicken to completely lose her voice?

Does she try to make noise and nothing comes out or he just hasn't heard her say anything? I've got several hens that aren't vocal, but if she's actively trying to produce sound then that's a different scenario!

Huh, isn't that peculiar? Maybe he needs to make her a cup of tea with honey in it, isn't that what singers use to get their voices back? I haven't heard of a chicken going hoarse, but stranger things happen every day.
