Hen with prolapse.

So how is she doing? Any update?

So sorry I haven't updated! We've been busy these past few days. It comes out at least once a day, but it isn't half as swelled as it was.
She is eating like a horse and loves to explore the house! :D

Have you tried the preparation h stuff yet?

I'm struggling with the same thing and may have a tip that could help you. I have a hen that was prolapsing for several days, just kept popping out after I'd replace it. But then I looked at a drawing of a chicken's internal anatomy and discovered that my technique may have been wrong. I was pushing it more downward inside of her. I changed my technique to my palm facing up and pushing it UPWARDS inside, and it so far has stayed 18 hours...a record! And she laid an egg without prolapsing again. I'm posting this because although I found tons of posts that said "gently put it back in", they were not specific about HOW to do that. So I hope this might help someone. If you are struggling with a prolapse coming out over and over, try gently pushing it upwards. Look at a chicken anatomy drawing and it will make sense.
