hen with vent problem

i have a problem with my new laying hen she is a 7 month old americauna .she has this yellow colored ooze coming from her vent and also seemed lame. i gave her a bath and kept her inside for a few days and she seems to be improving but does anybody know what this is and what i could do to treat it?

It could be a broken egg. Give her a warm bath to relax her and gently irrigate her vent. I use a large syringe (without needle) that I got from my vet. If there are pieces of eggshell in her carefully remove them so you don't cut her.
