Hi all. I came back from a 5 day family vacation to a chicken with a very poopy bum. I put apple cider vinegar in the chickens water. It's been a few days and she has worms in her poop now and she really isn't feeling well. What can I do to treat this quickly? She is about 2 to 3 years old. She was kinda sickly before I left but I thought she has sour crop because when I would pick her up she would have liquid coming out of her mouth and it smelled. so I vomited her three morning. The people watching the chickens Sid she went to eat right away in the mornings with the other chickens. So I figured she got better.

Those are maggots on the poop.
Can you gather her up and give her a good examination especially around the vent to make sure she has no maggot crawling on her skin?

I agree, she's not feeling well.

I would treat her for Sour Crop as outlined in the article below. You don't mention if she's been consistent laying eggs. A lot of times a crop issue is a symptom of an underlying condition, so there may be more going on.

I'm going to give her a bath when I get home from work to clean her bum. That way I can see if there are more on her skin. Should I use Epson salt in the bath? She is separated from the rest of the flock.

You can add epsom salts to the bath if you want.
Careful, if she's really lethargic - a soaking may send a bird over the edge.

I would also feel her abdomen for bloat or feeling of fluid. Do you know if she's been laying eggs?
