Our 3 month old hen had an apparent injury, we were gone over the weekend. Most of the upper part of the beak is gone, and there is a cut in the leg. No broken bones. No incident of pecking from the other chickens before we left. Our other two chickens are now pecking at the beak, and we have them separated. She appears unable to eat, though does drink. Uncertain what the initial cause was. I have a picture though am unable to attach.

You can use the upload feature in the blue bar at the top to get pictures hosted and posted. As for the beak, depending on the damage, it may be able to grow back. Soft mashed foods would probably work for her tender beak. It certainly would hurt to pick at anything hard because the tip of the beak is like our nails.
