Hen won't come out of box

You might be better off with day-old chicks than hatching eggs if she's already been setting for 2 weeks. She might not stay broody for 3 more weeks. You have to be careful about buying chicks though, if they are over a week old, she may not adopt them. (I've had a broody hen attack older chicks) It is better to put them under her at night. In the morning, she'll think that she hatched them out.

Hello! So yesterday was 21 days and sure enough, one little chick hatched (I put two eggs in but one got cracked and died :-( .. So now the baby is a little less than 24 hours old.. Now I did not separate her from the other hens. They have not bothered with her at all when I put her out to eat and drink so I think they won't bother her now with the chick. But now what if she doesn't go out to eat and drink with the chick and doesn't the chick have to get at her food and water too? I am worried the hen will just sit on the chick in her little nest I made in a small dog crate and not come out.
