Hen won't eat 6 days

could she have worms? not usually my first thought, but since she is so thin, tough to worm a sick/weak chicken though. But may be the problem too. try giving her some electrolyte solution in her water and some chicken vitamins to help give her some strenght. I have read that mites can cause a hen to get weak, they suck their blood out at night, have you checked for bugs? sounds like you are doing all you can for the possible crop issue, keeping her in will help her out. hope she does well, good luck

If she makes it till tomorrow at 2:30pm I have a vet appointment. He seems to think she may need surgery. I don't think she can survive that. But he said sometimes the crop just quits contracting. I tried to massage her again this morning but she just spit up water. She is bloated like a water ballon. When I pick her up she just spews water.

Yeah I guess I should. I have never had to do that. I guess there is no easy way to do that? So far she still clucks when I come down to the basement to see her.

I think I will have to do two tomorrow. The Production Red is eating heartily when I pick her up and feed her but she refuses to eat without my help.

One of mine got sick also and I had to cull. Not easy but necessary.
