November 25, 2012 is our entry date into backyard chickens. A local guy sold us some "Copper Rhodes", his breeding of RIR & Black Copper Marans. His desire to breed and my hope is a combo bird which is heavy body but also a good layer. The chicks are about 2 weeks now and also came with two chicks that are 3 weeks of a possible Americana cross.
