I have a 4 month old RIR rooster that is now beginning to crow so I have to get rid of him. There is a person who will take him who has a lot of land with horses etc., and I guess takes in unwanted animals.
It sounds perfect and I was relieved until I started wondering about my roo being thrown into the wild amidst a myriad of animals. Are roosters different than chickens in that they dont need to be gradually introduced into a flock or other roosters?
I would rather give him to a family in need of food if the alternative was him living an unhappy tortuous life. Hes such a kind polite little guy right and quite henpecked, Im sure his pathetic crow would summon the bullies.
