Hens and Burning Bushes

Hello! So I just found my six hens all under my burning bushes enjoying the leaves and berries. I googled it which says burning bushes are poisonous. Uhg. Has anyones hens eaten from their burning bush and been fine? Or do I have to assume they’ll all die? Blah.

I don't know for sure, but I found the following quotes that suggest that they will probably be ok

I don't know about chickens, but the local birds love them. They have planted the hillside with plants now. The plants have become an invasive species. Yikes. I do love them in the fall though. Gloria Jean

I was going to say the same, the wild birds love them, so I doubt they would hurt the chickens, I haven't seen mine eating the berries but they probably have.

Plants for a Future (pfaf.org) does say wild turkeys love this fruit.

Usually I find mine don't touch anything toxic.
All you can really do is block their access to it, and watch them. Keep me updated.

I always thought that was the case too! And decided to google burning bushes and birds while watching them happily eat them and then got scared!

Now, I think I would try to restrict their access in the future, but for snacking them once I don't think I would panic.
