Hens are brooding and it's spreading help!

Thank you for all that information,I cant get my hands on either a cage nor a few day old chicks,I live way out of town & don't have the funds anyway to purchase a cage,I think Ill wait till she gets off the nest and lock her out using a board to the entrance of the coup..Its just a matter of watching to see when she gets off.I knew that it wasn't good for her to be still sitting in her box and hopefully she will go off and be with her friends, once again thank you & Ill let you know how it goes,by the way its summer here..regards Kat..

You can just reach in and grab her out of the nest at any time

They can act all nasty but I've always found that when you actually have them in your arms they calm down a lot - it's all smoke and mirrors (their aggressive act) and it quickly dissipates into sookiness once they're picked up! If all else fails and she really is nasty, I find wearing an old dressing gown will stop the pain of any pecking attempts.

Yep, I'd just block off her access to the coop or the nest boxes. Either should work. The heat is a real challenge though. I have one in the buster cage as we speak, and when I let her out she tries to distract me by pecking at food, then when I turn my back she hikes off to the nest at great speed!

Naughty broody!

Can two hens go in the same broody buster or will they peck at one another? I have two that are broody and only one buster (a large wire dog crate off the ground).
