Hens ate bugs from stagnant water

I’m freaking out! My husband emptied a bin that had compost in it. When he dumped the water that accumulated …a bunch of meal worm or fly larvae spilled out. The next thing I know my chickens are eating the bugs!!! This water has been standing for at least 2 weeks! What can I do?? Do I need to be worried?? Please help!

Your birds will be fine. The worms are a normal part of what chickens like to eat.

Don’t worry. Chickens eat some gross stuff! Insect larvae are actually pretty good for them. Lots of protein.
