Hens belly below vent is swollen

So I have this rhode island red hen how just started laying 3 weeks ago....she has only layed 3 or 4 times that I am aware of....today we noticed he butt looked dirty so we cleaned her butt and noticed that just below her vent her belly feels hard but kinda squishy. ..her vent seems to look normal? Does she have an egg stuck? We put her in the coop by herself but it's been over and hour and nothing? Advice please?

It sounds like she may be egg bound. Look up "egg bound hen" in the search bar and you will get ample threads on it.
