hens burrowing?

two of my young hens are acting weird. they are just rollg in the dirt making a little dip to lay on.. why? i almost think they are making nests. whats going on?

Sounds like they are having a dust bath, mine do it all the time, nothing to worry about its natural

All mine do this as well. I made them a box with play sand in it they love it

Yep, dust bath gets rid of mites and other tiny creatures--plus the dirt they dig up is cold and helps cool them.

yep by digging they can get where it's cooler and probably also dust bathing like everyone else said.
