Hi!
Since yesterday, I noticed that a hen's comb started turning grey along the edge. All the little *edges* are a light grey, but the rest of it is a healthy rose red color. She has no other symptoms, eats, drinks, goes about her day. She did cut her foot like a week or so ago, but I treated it with antiseptic immediately and the next day she did even have a limp, still hasn't one, and the wound appears to be closed. That's the only thing I can think of, but it's been a week, like I said.
Also, it's been raining a lot this week and everything's muddy. It's bothering me, because I know that they hide being seriously sick until it's too late many times.
Any ideas? I didn't find anything relevant online.

Does she have a large comb? Pictures may help a lot. Sometimes large combed chickens may have dark tips and toward the back of the comb. The color can vary with excitement or temperatures.

I posted some pics. No, as you will see they are grey. The reason it stuck out to me, is because I've never seen that color on any of my girls before. Oc, I've only had chickens for 6 years, so I'm sure I still have lots to learn. She is 3yo, if you think it matters in any way.

looks like a bit of frostbite, it happened a few weeks ago as it takes a while to show damage. she'll be fine, it's best to just monitor it and leave it alone.
I thought it turned black and/or yellow-ish from frostbite. Also, there was no other discoloration at any time, it just turned grey overnight. Should I apply some Vaseline or anything moisturizing to the area?
