hens dropping eggs from roost

I have 7 hens and 4 laying boxes but recently several of my hens have been dropping eggs to the ground from their roosts (of course they break). Anyone know why this is happening and how to stop it? All advice welcome.

I am experiencing a similar problem. Of my 7 hens, I suspect 2 or 3 are dropping eggs.
I am wondering how to remedy this - and am thinking of a couple of solutions
1) perhaps I should leave a brighter light on for them at night
2) lower the roost area so that it is easier for them to get down
and lay in the proper area
I will try these solutions soon to see what happens.
Let me know if you find any solution.
