Hens have not been broody at all!!!!!!!!!!

Good to hear things are looking up. You don't say were you got your birds. The reason I say this is last year I was wondering why mine never went broody and I had a mod tell me that hatchery chicks have the broodiness bred out of them. So I incubatored their eggs and now some of those chickens are broody for me. How old is your little banty?

Found the remains of the Bantam today. Put her eggs in the bator.

That's why I have the "game chickens". But the Maran is still on.

You need some Buff Orpingtons or Seramas. Mine are always broody. I just locked them all out of the coop for half a day and broke all but one. I only had one open nest box. You don't need to let eggs sit in the nest. They will go broody on nothing. Extra eggs sitting around just wastes good eggs.

I guess this might be true for some breeds, but all my chickens are from hatchery stock, and i have had 6 broodies hatch since April. Then i had two more broodies i had to break because i didn't have enough eggs for them.
