Okay...well, all four hens in the hospital are acting okay. Actually one of my youngest hens was hurt almost as bad as her mother but it was too old to suture her. The good news is that the ones with older wounds who smelled so bad when I first found them smelled much better just on day 2 after 24 hours of oral antibiotics, cleaning & triple antibiotic.
All four are eating....so I am hoping for the best.
The roo who wounded them has adopted all five chicks and is being a stay at home dad now, since their mom is in the hospital. AND we had a hawk in the tree last evening eyeballing the chicks. Still all five are there with daddy.
We need our own reality show.
