Hens less noisy as the summer progresses?

I have 20 prairie bluebell and misc brown egg layer hens that were 7 months old in early spring, when they started laying. (they were Nov/Dec hatchlings). At first they were so noisy when laying eggs, that I was worried about the neighbors. Now as the summer progresses they still make noise, but not quite as much. Has anyone else noticed this, that the chickens get quieter throughout the summer? I am not sure if I am just getting used to it. Thankfully I have had no complaints from the neighbors. I keep the hens on the street side, where it is noisy from cars anyway, and I give free eggs to my three closest neighbors.
