Our hens used to squat when I (or most other people) would get near. It was funny to scratch their back and shake their tail and watch them fluff up and walk away. Once our roo grew up and starting taking care of his girls, they stopped squatting for people. I guess we named him "Romeo" appropriately. Well, as I mentioned in a recent post, we had to re-home Romeo. Yesterday, which was LESS THAN A WEEK since Romeo left, two of the RIRs started squatting for me again. Those hussies!

Ha ha ha! That's funny! My hens just associate me with food!

I have a hen that not only squats when I rub her, she lays her head down on the ground and rubs it! I swear she is a dog who has been reincarnated as a hen!
